80+ and Gray Power

Sailing is a lifelong sport and it is true. There are many people who stay connected to sailing in the old age because this activity keeps them fit.

Vitality and health are by-products of their passion – sailing.

Instead of only enjoying their retirement at the café and with cake, they have fun toiling on the oceans or in the coastal areas.

Sailing is optimal health training into old age, keeps body and mind fit. Keeping track and maneuvering require quick and smart thinking. Setting sails as well as sail trim are endurance and strength training for the entire body. The healthy climate at the sea has a hardening effect on the body and strengthens the immune system.

Gisela discovered the passion for cat sailing only a few years ago, after she was able to sail for a long time.

Twice a year she comes to Wind&Friends in Alcudia and does not even think about quitting because of old age and to rest.

Albert Camus once said that the magnitude of a person depends on his decision to be stronger than the time and living conditions. And that is the challenge of getting old.

Gisela was back again last week and we’ll see her again in the fall.
